Yin Yoga is a slow-paced style of yoga with set asanas that are held for longer periods of time (usually five minutes and longer), which allows us to apply gentle pressure and compression on our deep tissues. The whole point of Yin practice is to relax the muscles as much as possible, to target the deeper connective tissues – especially fascia, our “spiderweb”.
Yin Yoga is based on TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine), and therefore works in tandem with meridians and acupressure points targeting our vital organs and balancing the 5 Elements: Water, Wood, Fire, Earth, and Metal. Yin Yoga brings our focus more inwards, and can be an excellent bridge towards meditation, or can become meditation itself. While Yang, the masculine force within us strives for change and movement, Yin represents the feminine energy that allows you to rest and gives your body and mind the time to practice letting go and accepting. Yin is a great form of yoga to counterbalance the intensity of our modern times. It is nourishment for our parasympathetic nervous system and a deeply healing, meditative practice. In recent years, Yin Yoga has grown to become one of the most popular styles of yoga worldwide.
This training is suitable for already certified and aspiring yoga teachers, as well as for dedicated yoga students who want a deeper understanding of Yin Yoga and Traditional Chinese Medicine for their classes and/or own practice. This course is taught in English and is registered with Yoga Alliance.

A beautiful home in the middle of nature, where time stands still and the path to your true self begins
With the new construction of the retreat ZENIYO in the municipality of Brügge, a yoga center with a sauna and a natural pool was created in the heart of the Eider Valley. The buildings fit harmoniously and unobtrusively into the natural surroundings thanks to the chosen architectural language, which is based on traditional barns of the region, and create space for tranquility, strength, and inspiration. The yoga and meditation room is located on the upper floor where through its large window two bright pairs of birch trees greet the day. On the first floor of the yoga center, there is a spacious entrance with a lounge area, changing rooms with shower and toilet, and a generous terrace where we will dine, relax and exchange ideas. A large saltwater pool with a view of the Eider Valley completes the ensemble for a wonderful retreat.
ZENIYO – space for recreation
There are direct train connections from the cities of Hamburg and Kiel to Bordesholm every half to one hour. The train station Bordesholm is 2 km away from ZENIYO. It takes about 15 minutes to walk from the station.

Breaks and meals are the few hours for rest, reflection, and communication with your classmates. Therefore, Zeniyo will provide you with delicious vegan and/or vegetarian dishes for breakfast and lunch, as well as fruit and small power snacks for the small in-between hunger.
Thus, we give you the opportunity to focus on your training and your journey. The evenings and Sunday are at your free disposal or can be organized together in groups as needed.
